Supporting each other as a family

Holding debates is a favourite activity of the group, but a wide range of other activities has included holding quizzes, table tennis tournaments, basketball and sexual health workshops. The group love outdoor activities such as hide and seek, trips out for food or water fights in the summer.

An eventful summer saw the Inters go bike riding, to a water park and on a residential trip to Avon Tyrell. Numbers increased dramatically following these trips.

Group discussions have been hugely effective in helping the young people express themselves and talk through important issues in a comfortable environment. Our biggest focus areas has been getting the group – and the staff– to support each other as a team and family. We’ve seen huge improvements among the young people who have become very welcoming of each other. We continue to prepare them for the transition to the Seniors section.
